Hanceville, Ala. — Several Wallace State Community College Health Science programs are offering a second chance for students to apply for admission for the Fall 2025 semester.

Programs with openings for the fall will be on hand on Thursday, June 26 to provide details about their programs. This Second Opportunity event will be held at 1 p.m. in room 116 of the Bevill Health Science Building.

“This annual event was designed to support students exploring a variety of pathways into healthcare careers,” said Lisa German, Vice President for Learning and Dean of Health Sciences. “We often find that students may not be fully aware of the wide range of opportunities available in the healthcare field. This event introduces them to different roles, work environments, and the skillsets and personality traits that align well with each profession.”

The programs that will be represented at the event include:

  • Child Development
  • Dental Assisting
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Health Information Technology
  • Medical Assisting
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Polysomnographic (Sleep Lab) Technology
  • Respiratory Therapy

“We encourage anyone who has an interest in the healthcare field to attend,” German said. “They may find a new door open to them to a career they never imagined before.”
